SEMA 2015 Nissan 240 SX Show And Go

Everyone knows SEMA is the greatest automotive show in the world.  Not everyone knows that it is also the biggest trade show in the US.  Held every year in Las Vegas, and mostly closed to the general public, it is the place to see the very best in speed machines.  We have included a few photos from this years show, for those who are partial to the soon to be "new classic" Nissan 240 SX, and it's cousins as well.  Enjoy!

Nissan 240SX Suspension Mods

The only serious choice for track day or drift car suspension is to go with coil over shocks.  They are not inexpensive, but there are some distinct advantages, that come with using them.  Good reasons, include getting the shock as close to the center line of the tire as possible, for a reduced overall motion ratio.  This allows running a softer spring and staying in better contact with the track surface, which is why you see coil overs on so many race cars.  Ride height adjustment is another feature, since  these shocks are fairly easy to raise up or down (see the blue collar,  in the photo below).  Next up will be five bolt hubs, which is a fairly involved job.  Bring your big hammer, and a lot of determination.

The Nissan 240SX Outer Fenders Are In

Our build car waited for close to a year, but these outer fenders finally arrived from Japan.  They are very well made, light weight, and fit almost perfectly, to the existing body work.  We cut out the inner and outer fenders for tire clearance.  These nicely made units will cover up the yet to come wide tires, lowered suspension, and any imperfections, below the surface.

Nissan 240SX Wiring Issue

Often the first thing the owner of a Nissan 240 SX wants to do is lower the car.  It's a good way to improve handling, but one big consideration is the wiring that runs thru the engine comparment.  If the car is too low, the tire can actually come in contact with the wires, which will lead to much bigger problems.  We are in the process of taking the left front fender off, and getting the wires up, and out of the way.  This is something that is very easy to over look, but a detail that deserves close attention.
