When selecting a replacement steering wheel for your Nissan 240 SX project, there is really only one choice.  The  Sparco R325 race proven unit will keep your finger tips in close contact with the road at all times.   We have run them on our street and road race cars, and they are seen on many of the endurance race vehicles at Daytona, and LeMans.  You will need a puller to remove the stock unit, and they can be purchased, or often rented for a few hours use.  A horn button is included as well.  Specs are as follows:

  • Diameter – 350mm
  • Dish (depth front to back) – 95mm
  • Cover Material – Suede
  • Yellow leather centering stripe

  •   $249.95 makes this a very good deal, with shipping and handling included.  Available on the web at:  http://gearheadzproducts.com/search.aspx?find=sparco

If you are headed to the  race track with your car, you may want to consider a quick release steering wheel coupler.  Many racing organizations require them.  Our prefered brand is NRG Innovations.  They make a very well engineered unit, that comes in a vareity of brillant colors, which makes them easy to see in a hurry when you need to.  These units sell for $149.95, including shipping and handling.  Go to:  http://gearheadzproducts.com/nrginnovationsquickrelease30.aspx

Billet Battery Mount For Nissan 240SX

As we move towards upgrading the electrical system on our Nissan 240 SX project car, a trunk mounted battery will be a must.  This CNC billet aluminum battery hold down will get the job done, and keep the whole area looking clean, as well.  Getting as much weight to the rear as possible will be a big help, when it comes time to do final set up, and scale the car.  A battery kill switch can easly be incorporated into the cockpit, which will allow shutting down the cars entire electrical system, from one point on the vehicle.  You will want to note that fully enclosed, metal battary boxes are not allowed, in SCCA approved vehicles.

    Nissan 240SX Gets Prepped

This is our newest project car, a "classic" 1995 Nissan 240SX.  It was brought back from Indiana in running condition, for a fair price, and will be getting the once over from our crew.  First thing to go was the stock exhaust.  It was replaced with an HK High Power unit,  part number HKS 3203-EX021    http://gearheadzproducts.com/search.aspx?find=HK+exhaust   This was a pretty easy install, and only took an hour or so, with ordinary hand tools, no torches required.  The system comes in a very shipable box, and has complete instructions, as well.  The new sound going down the road is awesome, but not so loud that you can't hear the "car tunes", while crusing the streets.
